High pressure in winter does not necessarily mean sunny weather. Despite very high pressures approaching 1040 hPa, there will be a lot of low cloud over the northern half of the country this weekend. They could be persistent north of the Seine,whereas there will be morning fog in the Garonne valley. At the same time, sunshine and mildness will reign over the other regions.
