Explore decades of reliable historical weather data to support decision-making across energy, agriculture, logistics, infrastructure, and scientific research. Whether you’re analyzing climate trends or simulating past weather events, our datasets help you gain clarity, reduce risks, and drive long-term performance.
Historical weather data is a powerful tool for your analysis and future endeavors. Whatever your industry, leveraging weather history enables you to better anticipate and manage future uncertainties.
Historical weather data refers to archived observations of atmospheric conditions collected from various sources such as ground-based weather stations, satellites, weather balloons, and reanalysis models. This data covers key meteorological variables including:
🌡️ Air temperature (min, max, average)
💧 Precipitation (intensity, cumulative)
💨 Wind speed and direction
🌬️ Relative humidity
🌞 Solar and UV radiation
📉 Atmospheric pressure
We provide this data in the format that suits your needs: time series for specific locations, or gridded datasets for broader regional analyses.
Historical data isn’t just about the past — it’s a powerful predictor for future strategies. Here’s how it can benefit you:
📈 Climate trend analysis
Detect long-term changes in temperature, precipitation, or extreme weather events. Ideal for risk modeling and sustainability planning.
🌀 Case studies of extreme events
Analyze the impact of storms, heatwaves, floods, or droughts with real weather data from the exact time and place of occurrence.
🏗️ Long-term operational planning
Improve infrastructure design or energy system resilience by accounting for past weather behavior over decades.
🔬 Scientific research & innovation
Base your research on trusted, statistically significant weather archives. Perfect for academic studies, modeling, or machine learning training sets.
Yes, our Frogcast API provides on-demand access to historical and real-time weather data for custom use cases.
We deliver data in CSV, JSON, or NetCDF — depending on your tools or platforms.
We offer access to ERA5 — the global reanalysis dataset provided by the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF).
ERA5 is a reanalysis project that combines historical weather observations and numerical models to create a spatially and temporally detailed reconstruction of weather conditions dating back to 1940. ERA5 offers global coverage with high temporal and spatial resolutions (1 hour – 25 km).
An enhanced version is also available for continents and a set of surface variables (ERA5-Land). Its temporal resolution remains hourly, but its grid is finer, at 9 km. The data is available from 1950 and up to 5 days prior to the current date.
Hourly
25 km (ERA5), 9 km (ERA5-Land)
From 1940 to 5 days before present
Ideal for simulation, climate impact studies, energy modeling, and hydrology.
FROGCAST provides a comprehensive range of meteorological weather parameters, tailored to meet the specific requirements of various industries. Whether you operate in energy, agriculture, logistics, or infrastructure management, you will find the data that suits your needs.
We can provide this data in time series for your locations of interest or in a spatial grid for a given region.
